Kowloon Tong ยท Considered Portfolio
The allocation plan exercise was the part I did not expect to find useful. I thought I already knew what I wanted to do. Writing it down and getting feedback on it showed me three assumptions I had made without realising. The course gave me something I could refer back to, which is what I wanted.

Sha Tin ยท Midlife Investor Full Track
I spent a long time reading financial content online and still felt confused about the basics. The Full Track was ten weeks and I found the pace appropriate. The one-to-one review at the end helped me consolidate what I had understood and identify where I still had gaps. Worth the time.

Tsim Sha Tsui ยท First Steps
I enrolled because I had been putting off thinking about this for years. The reading was clear and the glossary genuinely helped โ some terms I thought I understood, I had been using slightly wrong. I would have liked a bit more on fixed income, but the foundations course is not designed for that depth. I am now enrolled in the Considered Portfolio programme.

Happy Valley ยท Midlife Investor Full Track
The module on behavioural patterns was the one I found most valuable. I had done some reading on this before but the way it was framed in the context of actual investing decisions โ not just abstract psychology โ made it land differently. The group conversations were also better than I expected for a small online format.

Tai Po ยท Considered Portfolio
I appreciated that there was no pressure to take any particular approach or adopt any specific product. The course material presented information and then invited you to think about how it applied to your own situation. That is a different tone from most of what I had read before, and I found it easier to engage with as a result.

Sai Kung ยท First Steps
I had tried reading investing books before and found that most assumed knowledge I did not have, or moved too quickly past concepts that needed more time. First Steps did not do that. The week on time horizon was particularly clear. The reflection call format suited me โ I prefer listening to talking in group settings, and that was fine.

First Steps โ Considered Portfolio
From Avoidance to a Working Framework
The Situation
A secondary school teacher in her late 40s who had always intended to start investing but found the topic sufficiently intimidating that she kept putting it off. Her savings were sitting in a bank account earning very little.
What She Did
Enrolled in First Steps after reading about it through a colleague. Completed all five weeks of reading and attended three of the reflection calls. Enrolled in the Considered Portfolio programme immediately after.
Six Months On
Has a written allocation plan she describes as the clearest financial document she has ever produced for herself. Still working through it, but says she no longer finds the decisions overwhelming.
Midlife Investor Full Track
Returning After a Long Absence
The Situation
A logistics manager in his early 50s who had held some investments in his 30s, lost confidence during a difficult period in the markets, and had done nothing since. Wanted to return but was not sure where to start after such a long gap.
What He Did
Completed the Full Track programme. Found the module on behavioural patterns particularly useful for understanding his own previous decisions. Used the one-to-one review session to work through what had gone wrong earlier and what a different approach might look like.
Six Months On
Has resumed investing with a more deliberate approach. Says the course gave him a vocabulary for evaluating his own choices that he did not have before.
Considered Portfolio
From Reading to a Real Plan
The Situation
An accountant in her mid-40s who had read widely about investing but had never moved from reading to action. She could discuss concepts fluently but had nothing in place.
What She Did
Enrolled directly in the Considered Portfolio programme. Found the allocation plan exercise the most useful element โ it forced specificity she had been avoiding by staying in the reading phase.
Six Months On
Has moved from reading to action. Says the feedback on her written plan pointed out two things she had not considered: her implicit assumptions about liquidity and a concentration she had not noticed.
